My name is Mark Weston, and together with my wife Veronika, we are the people behind POP.

“We created POP as a place we’d genuinely enjoy ourselves—so we hope you will too.”

I’ve been cutting hair since 1987, offering both “invisible” trims and "big chop" transformations. I started training in Hamburg in 1987 and have continued refining my craft ever since, with a focus on precise cutting and colour.

Veronika is my muse and largely responsible for the salon’s atmosphere. She curates our product selection—including JessiCurl and John Masters Organics—and introduced Mason Pearson hairbrushes to Prague.

I’m responsible for your hair, the development of our team, and the overall quality of your experience.

We designed POP to be somewhere we’d choose to spend time ourselves—comfortable, calm, and quietly refined. We regularly visit other salons, both in Prague and abroad, to stay engaged with the wider industry. It’s a useful reminder that seeing things from the client’s perspective is invaluable.

While we’ve experienced many of the city’s well-known salons, our approach at POP is largely informed by the principles of Vidal Sassoon—particularly the emphasis on shape, balance, and a clear progression of skill from student to master stylist.

Taking the time for a proper consultation, along with an unhurried service, helps create the relaxed atmosphere we value at POP.

Our reputation for precise, English-inspired cutting and sophisticated styles attracts a broad range of clients—students and teachers, actors and opera singers, managers, diplomats, and the occasional well-known face—all of whom trust us with their hair.

POP sits within a lively neighbourhood, surrounded by cafés, restaurants, theatres and food shops. We like to think our fresh, modern salon adds something quietly distinctive to the mix.

Veronika already plays a central role in shaping how the salon looks and feels, and looks forward to becoming more involved as our three children grow more independent.

Mark works full-time at POP, supporting the team and helping younger stylists develop their skills with care and consistency.
